Ed Leventhal, CEO
- Ed founded J.J. Teaparty in 1957 and recently celebrated his 43rd anniversary in the
coin business. Since its founding, Ed has set his sights on providing coin collectors with
the finest and most sophisticated coin firm in downtown Boston. Ed is past recording
secretary of the Professional Numismatists Guild whose few hundred members make it our
most prestigious numismatic trade organization. He is a life member of the American
Numismatic Association and many state and regional organizations. Ed supports various
numismatic activities and hobby related events. He also contributes to The Guide Book
of United States Coins, the industry's standard reference guide, now in its 53rd
annual edition. Ed is a specialist in ancient coins and paper money. Miles Coggan, President - With a degree in criminology and time spent in the U. S.
Air Force as a commissioned officer, Miles is a no-nonsense businessman who has thoroughly
met the demands of dealers and collectors in his capacity as President of J.J.
Teaparty. With two decades of experience in the field, Miles has assembled many important
collections of type coins throughout his career. His grading accuracy and counterfeit
detection skills are highly regarded in the numismatic industry.
Scott
D. Sparks, Director of Operations - Scott is known
throughout the industry for his extensive knowledge of the wholesale market's ebbs and
flows. He gathers this information as he travels extensively to coin shows
throughout the country. His friendly "lets do business manner" helps
create a flurry of activity at shows. He is a Morgan dollar specialist and at the time of
his acceptance, was the youngest member of the National Silver Dollar Roundtable. Scott is
a life member of the American Numismatic Association. Scott's diverse businesses have
allowed him to obtain valuable management skills which he has incorporated at J. J.
Teaparty. He helped launch the company's Ebay program and oversees the JJTeaparty.com and
Wholesale operations at the firm. As we enter the 21st century, the coin
industry is undergoing changes with the addition of technology and the internet. Scott's
youth, knowledge and experience, together with our team of professional numismatists,

Mike Berton, Comptroller
- A recognized numismatist throughout the coin business, Mike has been a familiar face
travelling the coin convention circuit since the 1960s. His experience is immense in all
areas of numismatics and he acts as another one of our buyers who is very careful and
critical in his purchases. As our overseas representative, Mike has purchased many world
and United States coins in retail shops and auctions for our customers. In addition to his
convention travels, his duties include keeping a tight rein on our expenses so that your
coins are reasonably priced.
David Leventhal, Chief
Numismatic Buyer - David has been attending coin conventions for nearly two
decades and calculates that he has logged hundreds of thousands of miles in the air. Known
to dealers and collectors throughout the numismatic industry, he is a specialist in United
States and Canadian coinage. Over the years, David has handled many millions of dollars in
rare coins and is a very discerning buyer. He has assisted thousands of collectors to
build their collections. David has contributed to The Guide Book of United States Coins
for many years and was a past contributor to Charlton's Canadian Guide.
Liz Coggan, Director of
Retail Sales - Liz spends a good portion of
her day on the telephone speaking with our extensive group of customers. Whether you
collect Lincoln cents or rare United States gold pieces, Liz will find the coins for you
through the company's sophisticated Want List Program. She
travels to all of the major coin conventions and has numerous dealer contacts throughout
the United States. Liz has handled many great rarities and finest known specimens during
her numismatic career and is a specialist in die varieties in all United States coin
series. You will find her very conscientious in building a collection that you will be

Nestor Sergott, Retail
Store Assistant Manager - A collector for
many years, Nes has been meeting with our customers, both dealers and collectors alike, in
our retail store in Boston for over a decade. He is a specialist in all series of United
States rare coins as well as foreign material. He also represents our firm as one of our
wholesale buyers.
Daniel M. Lewis,
Photographer - Dan is the newest member of
the J.J. Teaparty team. He's been involved with coins as a collector and part-time dealer
for over two decades. Presently, he is the photographer and office administrative
